Maryland Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team

MNADV is thrilled to announce the finalization of the Maryland Domestic Violence Fatality Review State Implementation Team (DVFRSIT) report, marking the culmination of significant efforts and collaboration by dedicated changemakers across Maryland.

Established in 2021 by the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence (MNADV) and a work group featuring representatives from five jurisdiction teams, the DVFRSIT serves as a pivotal volunteer implementation body. Its mission is to bridge the gap between jurisdiction teams reviewing domestic violence cases and recommending changes, and the actual implementation of those changes to reduce the prevalence of intimate partner-related homicides in Maryland.

Notably, this report holds a special significance as it plays a role in acknowledging and honoring the lives of survivors who were tragically lost. It contributes to our commitment to commemorating their memory, a sentiment echoed in our Annual Memorial Service scheduled for February 26th, 2024.

We invite you to read the comprehensive report, which reflects the dedication and collaborative spirit of our statewide initiative. Your engagement and support are vital as we strive to create lasting positive change in the fight against domestic violence in Maryland.
